All Aurora Workplace Investigation Packages include an initial meeting with you to identify the scope of the issues of concern, the purpose of the investigation, the work and protocols required and timeframes involved. Investigation Service



With a Complete Investigation Service, Aurora manages the entire investigation process from beginning to end.

 

After the initial scoping meeting, you will nominate an Investigation Liason person to be Aurora's point of reference for the investigation. From there, Aurora will deal with all aspects of the investigation, including:

 

  • identifying sources of evidence, such as witnesses and documentary records

  • drafting allegations

  • drafting information concerning confidentiality and any undertakings necessary for involved personnel

  • interviewing witnesses

  • recording witness evidence in accordance with record keeping protocols as agreed, such as witness statements / transcript

  • identifying key issues for clarification

  • obtaining clarifying evidence as required

  • reviewing and analysing the evidence against your organisation's policy framework

  • preparing a written investigation report setting out a summary of the key evidence, the basis of analysis, the factual findings of the investigation and, if appropriate, legal findings

  • conducting an investigation de-brief meeting.

Partnered
Investigation Service



With a Partnered Investigation Service, Aurora will work with your internal team to the extent required to complete the investigation within your own framework.

 

Some organisations have sophisticated workplace investigation systems already in place and simply seek to outsource some or all of those functions.  Aurora understands the need for consistency in decision making and is able to work entirely within your own investigation framework.

 

Other organisations may have capacity to undertake most of the investigation themselves and simply use Aurora to sense check the process and analysis and before the findings are made. Aurora can be as hands-on or hands-off as you require. Typically this service may involve:

 

  • assisting to identify the key issues and developing an investigation strategy

  • advising on procedural fairness issues

  • assisting to identify the relevant allegations

  • drafting / reviewing necessary documentation such as allegation letters and information for personnel involved

  • advising on the relevant legal tests on which the findings may be scrutinised

  • assisting organisations to implement investigation outcomes

Preliminary
Investigation Service



At times it can be difficult to determine whether or not an investigation is required and the form it should take. With a Preliminary Investigation Service, Aurora can assist with that decision making.

 

For example, some long running employee grievances can become too difficult or time consuming for an internal team to manage.  It can be unclear what the next step should be.

 

Aurora can conduct a Preliminary Investigation and make preliminary findings to assist an organisation to determine the appropriate course of action going forward.

Aurora is experienced in providing workplace investigation training for private and public sector organisations.

 

We provide tailored training packages to suit the level of experience of your in-house team. Short and long training courses are available from teaching investigation fundamentals to advanced investigation technique and latest case law updates.
